The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you andIlia Mironchik(“we”), which operates the Helmlane service. They apply when you create an account or use the Helmlane control plane at api.helmlane.com, the web app, the phone apps, the MCP server, or the Helmlane agent connected to our control plane. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
If you use Helmlane with a control plane you or someone else runs yourself, these terms do not govern that server; its operator does.
What Helmlane is
Helmlane is software for running coding agents on your own computers and directing them from your phone, a browser or another agent. The Helmlane agent you install executes the work on your computer; our control plane stores your account, projects and chats and relays between your devices and your computers.
Helmlane is not a coding agent and does not provide one. The agents it works with — for example Claude Code, Codex or Cursor — are separate products you install and sign in to yourself.
Your account
- Give an email address you control, and keep your password, passkeys and recovery codes safe.
- You are responsible for what happens through your account, including through its sessions, connected apps and API tokens. Revoke anything you no longer trust.
- An account belongs to one person. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
Your computers, your agents
Helmlane gives you remote control of real computers. That comes with real responsibility:
- Enroll only computers you own or are authorized to control, and share only folders you are allowed to work in.
- Coding agents act with your permissions. Commands, git pushes and other actions run because you, or an automation you set up, asked for them. Command rules, approvals and step-up help you stay in control, but you decide what runs and you are responsible for the results.
- Review what agents change before relying on it, and keep your own backups. Helmlane is not a backup service.
Acceptable use
Do not use Helmlane to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
- access, control or harm a computer, account or network without permission;
- attack, overload, probe or disrupt the service or other users, or get around its security or limits;
- send malware, spam, or content that exploits or harms others.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules or endangers the service or other users.
Your content
Your code, prompts, chats and files remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and transmit them only as needed to run the service for you — for example, to show your chats on your devices and to send work to your computers. We do not use them for anything else.
You are responsible for having the rights to the content you put into Helmlane and send to the agents.
Other services
The coding agents, model providers, GitHub, Telegram, app stores and other services you connect are governed by their own terms, and your use of them — including any fees they charge — is between you and them. We are not responsible for how they behave.
Where the source code of Helmlane software is published, the license that accompanies it governs your use of that code.
Availability and changes
Helmlane is under active development. We work to keep it available and reliable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and features may change or be removed. If we introduce paid plans, their terms and prices will be shown to you before you are charged anything.
Ending
You can stop using Helmlane at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why unless the law or the safety of others prevents it.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, Helmlane is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including that it is fit for a particular purpose, or that agents will do what you intended.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, code, profits or business, arising from your use of Helmlane or of the agents and computers it controls. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version here and change the date at the top; if a change materially affects you, we will tell you in advance by email or in the app. Continuing to use Helmlane after a change takes effect means you accept it.
